Amy Weigand Griffin, MD, FACEP is originally from Barberton, Ohio. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she received a BA in Zoology in 1996. She attended medical school at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and received her MD in 2000. Amy then moved to Hartford, Connecticut, where she completed a residency in Emergency Medicine and a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. After her fellowship, she joined Wake Emergency Physicians, PA (WEPPA) in 2005. Amy has served in many leadership roles during her years at WEPPA including Medical Director of the Children’s Emergency Department, WEPPA Board of Directors, WakeMed Children’s Advisory Council, and WakeMed Pediatric Executive Committee. Amy lives in Cary with her husband, Bill, and their two children. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends in the mountains or on the water.
